Digging Deep

Digging Deep is a small workbook designed to assist families to study the Bible in context so as to get the most out of it. The booklet begins by discussing ten basic rules for studying the Bible. These ten rules draw the reader's attention to basic issues that are sometimes overlooked. There is no magic formula offered, just a disciplined approach that insists we take Scripture seriously.

The ten rules are followed by four exercises. These exercises help the reader see how the context can in different ways flow through a passage. The exercises are written so that a family can read the instructions and take turns underlining relevant words or phrases in the biblical passage printed in the booklet. The significance of the context in the exercise is then explained. This section in the booklet is helpful for those who want to practice recognizing the context of a biblical passage.
